February 8th, 6:30PM: Speaker Jim Lucas

Reflections: The Life and Times of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. – The Office of the President, Cross-Cultural Initiatives, Black Student Union, and Fish Interfaith Center are hosting Jim Lucas, a student of the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., in Memorial Hall next Monday, February 8, at 6:30pm. In this dramatic one-man show, Mr. Lucas chronicles the civil rights movement through the eyes of Dr. King, and walks the audience through the twelve and half years of Dr. King's life as a civil rights leader. The program presents little known facts about Dr. King and the movement as well as excerpts for some of his well-known speeches.

February 18th, 6-8PM: MLK Awards

The Chapman Black Student Union Martin Luther King Jr. Leadership Awards were created in order to highlight individual students, staff, faculty, community leaders, and groups at Chapman that embody the spirit of Dr. King's work of "service to the community" in conjunction with the Chapman BSU mission to promote diversity as well as a nurturing and inviting environment for Chapman's Black students. Held in FISH Interfaith Center.
