The Choirs at the University of California, Irvine is a prominent program consisting of both music and non-music majors.

The Choirs at the University of California, Irvine is a prominent student-run program consisting of both music and non-music majors. The Choirs at UCI have enjoyed outstanding success. The choirs have taken twenty-seven concert tours to festivals and competitions in Europe and Asia. Seventy-five percent of our singers are non-music majors. UCI singers and choirs have won prizes at the International Eisteddfod in Wales (four times), the Koorfest in Holland, World Choir Games in China, the Béla Bartók International Choral Competition in Hungary (three times), and recently at the International Youth Festival in Bratislava. Singers are expected to have at least two years of ensemble experience or several years of instrumental training. Several A Cappella groups also include our choir singers. The Choirs at UC Irvine is a student-run organization and has no direct affiliation with any of the academic courses/departmental ensembles under the Claire Trevor School of the Arts.
