The theme for this year’s APAAC, "Hyphenated: Navigating Identities," examines how the multiple facets of our identities affect the ways that different social contexts either disempower or empower us. This conference seeks to reorient discourse from reductive descriptions and categories to an exploration of intersectionalities. By encouraging individuals to think about larger social contexts rather than just introspection, we will recognize differences and reasons for building coalitions and solidarity between communities of color.
