Mentor's Empowering and Nurturing Through Education and commonly known as M.E.N.T.E, was founded by Felipe Hernandez, a junior at the University of California Irvine and Laura Romo, a junior at the University of California Los Angeles, in 2010. The organization's primary goal is to increase the number of high school students applying and enrolling into four/ two year universities/colleges and/or vocational colleges.
Ultimately, we propose to create a sustainable non-profit organization that will provide mentoring, tutoring, scholarships, community service, and internship opportunities as well as a support network of parents, teachers, alumni, elected officials, and community leaders.

Components:
Mentoring
Tutoring
Workshops
Career and College Exploration
Scholarships and internships
