E3's Annual Bike-Powered Concert at UCLA is taking place on MAY 1st 2015!!!
Ecochella is UCLA’s annual outdoor concert featuring student and local bands and powered 100% by BICYCLES. Our mission is to educate and inspire UCLA students about unconventional uses of renewable energy while showcasing the link between sustainability, health, music and a wheel-y good time.
At the pilot Ecochella on May 24, 2013, eight student groups and a popular local band played for four hours with a sound system powered by the energy of students’ legs for an audience of nearly one thousand. The night was filled not only with pedal-powered music but also bike-powered smoothies and ice cream, a giant sustainability fair, a solar powered food truck, a yoga class and a sassy bluegrassy moonlit dance/bike party to headliner Dustbowl Revival.
This year, E3's Ecochella will be filled with sweet pedal-powered tunes from UCLA student bands and our headliner Papa, Shredder the acrobat that does tricks off of a tree that lights up with pedal power, bike generators built by UCLA engineering students, a sustainability fair, and much more!
Check it out this Friday May 9th from 4-9pm at the Sunset Canyon Recreation Center at UCLA!!
