Non-profit organization dedicated to help vulnerable babies survive and thrive

Embrace is a social enterprise start-up that developed a low cost infant incubator (the Embrace Infant Warmer) for use in developing countries. We aim to help the 20 million vulnerable premature babies born every year in the world's developing countries. Unlike traditional incubators in the U.S. that cost up to $20,000, the Embrace Infant Warmer costs less than 1% of this price. The device works with or without electricity, has no moving parts, is portable, incorporates symbols which can be easily understood by illiterate parents, utilizes seamless antibacterial fabric, allows essential mother-to-infant contact, warms the infant with low-cost and reusable paraffin wax, and is intuitive to use. The long-term vision of Embrace is to develop other affordable products for bottom-of-the-pyramid markets; the incubator is just the first in a line of products that are anticipated to launch.
