UCLA Flying Samaritans is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing health care and health education to the community of Colonia Margarita Moran.
The new found UCLA chapter the Flying Samaritans is joining forces with a
larger organization with a mission to provide medical aid to those who would
otherwise have none. Specifically, our branch will improve the healthcare of a small
community on the outskirts of Tijuana, Mexico, called Colonia Margarita Moran. Our
mission is to not only provide access to care for this community, but to strive to
improve their education about healthy living, empowering them to take their health
into their own hands. Through hard work with fellow bruins and health care
providers, all sharing the common passion for universal care, we will integrate
ourselves into the community of Colonia Margarita Moran, becoming a strong force
and a constant reminder of healthy living. Our project has taken long strides to
begin this organization, however there is still much for us to do. From recruiting
medical providers to obtaining medical supplies, and most importantly to planning
our health education seminars, we are all working hard to reach our end goal. We
hope to soon become that driving force for the people of Colonia Margarita Moran
and give them the vigorous life every human deserves.
