Over 200,000 children are born with a severe cleft condition each year often making them unable to eat, speak, socialize or smile. In some places these children are shunned and rejected by their own communities and often, their families can't afford to give them the surgeries they need to live a normal life. Since 1982, Operation Smile's dedicated medical and fundraising volunteers have provided over 2 million medical evaluations and 200,000 free surgeries for children around the world. With a presence in over 60 countries, we are able to heal children’s smiles and bring hope for a better future.
