SCOPE's Youth Empowerment Program is a one-on-one mentoring organization at UCLA. We aim to improve the lives of underprivileged 4th and 5th graders at Stoner Ave. Elementary school in Culver City.
The Youth Empowerment Program (YEP) focuses on the individual needs of each child. Mentees are chosen based on academic need, academic drive, or behavioral needs/home-life. We require at least a one year commitment to ensure that mentees have a consistent role model in their lives. Mentors cater to the needs of their mentees. Site visits may consist of conversation, playing games, math homework, reading, arts & crafts, or other projects.
