The Center for Assault Treatment Services Victory for Victims 5k/10k Walk/Run, Community Health, Involvement, Fun!

Welcome to the CSUN Master of Public Health Student Association (MPHSA) team page for the 11th Annual Victory for Victims 5k and 10k Walk/Run!
April 28, 2013 will mark the 11th V4V Walk/Run for The Center for Assault Treatment Services! This is a day filled with positive energy, fun, and simply, a great time for members of all ages! Year after year, this annual walk/run unites the entire Los Angeles community to raise awareness on child abuse, sexual abuse, and domestic violence. This 3.1, or 6.2 mile victory lap is a way to honor those who have been affected by these crimes, while bringing a sense of hope, courage, and strength to them and their loved ones. Most importantly, this is a day where as a community, we are able to let those affected by any of these crimes know they DO NOT stand alone, and we will strive to do everything in our power to help Break the Silence and Stop the Abuse!
Are you thinking to yourself, "What if I don't have any walking/running experience?" or, "Do I have to finish in a specific time frame?" The best part of this walk/run is that NO PREVIOUS WALKING/RUNNING EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY :-) And also, this is not a race to the finish line, unless you are trying to break your own Personal Record, of course! :)
All you need is a smile...and to register before April 14th before the prices go up! $35 for the 5k or 10k options before April 14. There is even a kids Fun Run 1k (.62) mi. for just $15 (they get a really cool medal)!! So don't worry about where to leave the little ones...just bring them along for a great time!! Family+ Friends+ You = A recipe for a good 'ol time!
With your registration, you will receive a participant t-shirt, race bib, time chip, and unlimited access to the pre/post race health and fitness expo, Kids Fun Zone, Cool-down Lounge/Massage! (Lots of vendors and free food!) The race is early in the morning, so you have the rest of your Sunday to relax. ;-)
