Main Events:
TBC:
What is a TBC?? A Teddy Bear Clinics (TBC) is a mini doctor's visit we organize for preschoolers! We give each and every one of the preschoolers their own teddy bear so that they can pretend to be the doctor themselves! There are 5 stations: 1,2,3,4,5 and after we teach them a little bit about each station, we let then give it a try themselves! The purpose of this service event is to familiarize the toddlers with a few components of a basic doctor’s visit. We hope to alleviate any hesitations, fears or concerns the kids might have when they have to go to the doctor. It’s one of our favorite events so come check it out!
Nutrition Program:
Eating a healthy and balanced diet has become harder the growing generation when cheap and fast food is an easier option. Nutrition presentations are aimed at elementary and middle school students to teach them about healthy eating habits and make better choices at the grocery store.
AIDS/HIV Presentations:
There are over 1 million people living with HIV/AIDS in the US alone. This devastating epidemic is affecting more and more young people. The goal of this project is to educate young people about the virus and disease, so that they don't become a statistic. Our target audience are high schoolers in underprivileged communities.
