UCLA's Synthetic Biology Team for the International Genetically Engineered Machines (iGEM) competition invite you to explore synthetic biology!

Founded in Spring 2013, the Synthetic Biology Team began as a meeting grounds for curious and enthusiastic undergraduate researchers to discuss synthetic biology with the goal of participating in the annual International Genetically Engineered Machines (iGEM) competition.

With students across all four years, representing virtually every department in the life, physical, and engineering sciences, our team maintains and is proud of its interdisciplinary approach to scientific research.

UCLA's inaugural team for the iGEM competition took home a bronze medal from the North American regional jamboree in Toronto, Canada this October, and we're very excited -- and ambitious -- to bring UCLA even further in the international synthetic biology scene. We welcome you to join and see what we're all about, and explore scientific research through hands-on experience, and engaging workshops and seminars.
