Nature is the inspiration for each piece on this program. David Maslanka's exciting Mother Earth fanfare is followed by the solemn gravity of Eric Whitacre's Sleep. Cal State Fullerton's oboe professor Rong-Huey Liu will join the ensemble to perform the U.S. premiere of Ferrer Ferran's El Bosque Magico ("The Magic Forest"), and the concert will conclude with Steven Bryant's Ecstatic Waters for wind ensemble and electronics.
