MATERIALS AND ENERGY RECOVERY DIVISION ACADEMIC SUPPORT PROGRAM

Application Submission Deadline: June 19, 2016

Awards and Recognitions: $18,000 in Scholarship Awards! between the students and their respective college/university. The school's portion of the award will be $1,000 for each scholarship awarded

The Academic Support Program continues to be an important part of ASME - MER Division activities. The Division awards scholarships with a view to stimulate interest in students in materials and energy recovery from solid waste and related fields in environmental engineering, as well as to support colleges and universities that offer curriculum or courses supporting these areas of solid waste management.

The ASME - MER Division offers an academic support program with annual scholarship awards totaling $18,000. The scholarship award amounts will be shared between the winning student and his or her school, with the school receiving $1,000 out of each award amount stated below.
The number of awards will be as follows:
a. Graduate Scholarship - (1st) $6,000 and (2nd) $4,000
b. Undergraduate Scholarship - (1) $4,000
c. Graduate or Undergraduate Scholarship - (1) $4,000

ASME-MER Division will provide a complimentary one-year membership in the ASME Materials & Energy Recovery Division to each student submitting a completed application.
Students enrolled in any branch of engineering or science in North American (including Alaska, Canada, Hawaii, Mexico and Puerto Rico) colleges and universities with environmental programs that include materials and energy recovery in solid waste management related curriculum or courses are eligible to apply.
