This summer institute is a 7-day, 6-night in-residence program at UCLA for high school students who are interested in MUN. The purpose of the institute is to teach students all about MUN, international relations, and college life. It will take place from Sunday, June 19th-through Saturday, June 25th, 2016.
Being a Program Counselor will require a commitment during the entire week of MUNSI, with additional time required during Spring quarter. Those of you selected to be a part of the institute will be aiding me in the process of developing a curriculum for the participating students, assuring that the students receive an educationally-rich experience, and working to represent UCLA and MUN in the best light possible.
Prior experience/knowledge of Model United Nations is not a requirement, as everyone hired will be fully trained to be a Program Counselor for MUNSI. This, however, is an awesome opportunity to share your knowledge on MUN rules of procedure, public speaking, and international relations. You will also have a great opportunity to immerse yourselves in the rich Model UN experience as a staffer. I'm sure those who have staffed before will attest to the fact that it is a GREAT time!
If you have any questions about MUNSI, please do not hesitate to contact the Program Coordinator, Andy S Leung!
