With the passage of the College of Letters and Science Diversity Requirement this past year, the Diversity Initiative Steering Committee is sponsoring an all-day symposium recognizing this milestone. The symposium will take place on January 22, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the California Room of the Faculty Center. Panel presentations featuring well-known scholars will cover:

(1) research on the effect of diversity course content on campus climate,

(2) teaching diversity courses at UCLA, with a focus on interdisciplinary efforts, and

(3) tools for discussing controversial topics related to diversity.
