Divan Consort is a Los Angeles based ensemble founded by the Turkish pianist Füreya Ünal. The ensemble performs the most recent works reflecting the highest artistic expressions as well as the landmark compositions of the twentieth century. Having performed individually in many countries, Divan Consort's members are devoted to offer gripping, world-class performances that entertain the audience. They have given many world premiers of recently composed pieces and have recorded the music for the theatre play, BAAL by Bertold Brecht for The Sacred Fools Theater Company. Within the first two of years of its existence, Divan Consort has been chosen to perform at a variety of prestigious music series and venues. As a winner of the Beverly Hills Auditions, they were invited to perform at the Previews Concert Series at Manhattan Beach, The Nixon Library, and Live at the Lounge in Hermosa Beach. The group has given numerous concerts in the Los Angeles and Orange County area as well as successful concert tours of Portugal and Turkey. They performed at the 36th International Estoril Music Festival as well as giving master classes in Portugal. While touring Turkey, Divan Consort performed at the festivities in Bursa celebrating the 100th birth year of Turkey's first ceramics artist, Fureya Koral. The group also gave a concert as a part of Istanbul 2010, Cultural Capital of Europe.
